THE PORTFOLIO

This is my project portfolio. I have sold a lot of these sculptures over the years and have many more in select gallery’s around Oregon.

WHAT IS KARBON KAST?

It took ten years to create a technique we call Karbon Kast. This style was born after Chris Truax found a new way to infuse everyday objects with metal. The result creates a fossilized look like nothing you have ever seen. He teamed up with Graphic / Web Designer Mark Boehly and together they have been producing stylish works of art that look great in any home, office, or yard.

ABOUT THE ARTIST

“Flight is freedom and release, flight is the dream we all dream of.”
Christopher Truax

The Summary

Chris Truax is a North West artist who uses recycled vintage car parts and scrap metals to create striking creatures that look as though they might just come to life and fly away.

His characters are the kind one might see in big budget science fiction movies: Robotic, dangerous and beautiful, with a human, emotional quality that makes them warm, organic and so life like. With the recent addition of LCD lights powered by solar cells, his work is taking on a new look and prying open new dimensions of sculptural wall art.

Accomplishments

As a member of the Oregon Sculptors guild, Christopher’s art has been shown locally in countless gallery’s since 2006, including posing alongside Salvador Dali originals, “The Spruce Goose” and NASA equipment at the Evergreen Aviation Museum. Nike commissioned the creation of large Goldberg machines for title sequences in the skateboard video, “SB Chronicles” and he has done prop creation for a short film called, “Power Up.” Christopher has also had the opportunity to work on many other films throughout his career.
